Epidemie related decision model for control of downy mildew in hop (Pseudoperonospora humuli Miy. et Tak.), based on critical amount of spores

Summary

The influence of biological and meteorological factors on the infection and on the development of downy mildew of hop was investigated. A forecasting model for sensitive varieties was developed. The infection level depends on the duration of leaf surface wetness as rainfall and airborne spore concentration. From this model a simplified model was developed for less sensitive varieties, based on the critical amount of spores.
