As of 1 February 2018, Prof. Hubert Hasenauer will be taking over the office of the rector and together with his vice-rectors will be leading the BOKU until 2022.

"Together with my vice-rectors, I am looking forward to taking up the new challenge and am honored by the trust placed in us. Together with the BOKU staff and students, we want to further develop the excellent research and teaching at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. The BOKU’s areas of expertise and study play a significant role in our society. It lies within our responsibility to create optimal conditions for everyone and to impart knowledge and communicate values to the students for their future lives," said Rector Hubert Hasenauer in a first statement.

The head of the university council, Prof. Werner Biffl, is also looking forward to constructive and successful cooperation: "Hubert Hasenauer is – due to his scientific and administrative experience – well prepared and fully aware of the structure of as well as the future challenges to the BOKU." Together with the rector Prof. Hasenauer, the following current vice-rectors will take up their positions:

The inauguration ceremony of the new rector and the vice-rectors will take place on 19 April 2018, at 16:00 hours in the "Armin Szilvinyi Haus" (Muthgasse 18).
