Investigations about the morphology from stems of fibre hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) dependent on sowing date and seed density

Summary

The aim of the present study was to examine the influence of sowing date and seed density to fibre cell morphology. There was a great influence of the seed density to the size of the different cell sections in the diameter of the stem while the sowing date did nearly not effect this parameters. Higher seed density lead to thinner stems and smaller sizes of the cell sections in the stem diameter. The lower seed density created in both years nearly always higher areas of primary fibre cells. The portion of the fibre cell lumina was influenced by seed density and sowing date. It was supposed that the fibre cells of the delayed sowing date are not as ripe as the other ones and so they show a bigger cell lumina in the dense stand. Key words: Fibre hemp, Cannabis sativa, fibre cells, microscopy, measurement of fibre cells.
