BOKU core topics of teaching on sustainable development

Discussion paper

In the numerous courses of study at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, teaching content relevant to sustainability is currently presented in many different courses and in different depths. In some cases the term “sustainability” occurs explicitly in the course title, sometimes implicitly, and sometimes sustainability-related topics are conveyed in courses whose title would not suggest that at all.

With the proposal for BOKU core topics of teaching on sustainable development, the working group wanted to initiate a discussion in 2017 on whether it is possible and desirable at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences to develop a common understanding of conveying sustainability beyond the boundaries of the individual fields of study to develop.
