The drying of kernels from Cucurbita pepo L.

Summary

In a trial project the drying process of kernels of Cucurbita pepo L. was tested. For batch driers with temperatures of the drying air between 40 and 60 °C a air flow rate of 3000 m3/m3 h (= 0.83 m3/m3 s) was proved favourable. The calculation of a drier with a horizontal floor for 1500 kg dry kernels for one charge is explained. Key words: Cucurbita pepo L., drying.
