Biomassetechnology

The Master's programme "Biomass Technology" has a European orientation and is based on the cooperation between the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the latter having established a university location in Straubing with a focus on "Renewable Resources".

The core objective of the study programme is the scientific-technical and economic qualification for the energetic and material use of renewable raw materials from agriculture and forestry. The balanced combination of energetic and material use is seen as a particular strength, also because it complements the competences of both partners (TU Munich - BOKU) very well. The Master's programme can be studied in English or German and is aimed at students who would like to address the upcoming technical-socio-economic problems in the use of renewable raw materials at national or European level. 

The Master's programme has an interdisciplinary structure and includes chemical-biological knowledge, engineering knowledge on raw material extraction, processing, material and energy use or conversion, energy technology, material sciences, economics, business studies, marketing, management and soft skills.
