AgrEco-Organic

The AgrEco-Organic is a programme taught only at BOKU. Studying abroad is recommended, but not compulsory.

EUR-Organic

Currently you can choose the following universities as your home university:

  • University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU)
  • University of Hohenheim and
  • Aarhus University

Note: For the EUR-Organic only English language skills are required (you do not need to speak German)!

 


Special EUR-Organic application deadlines:

  • Non-EU students: 15 March for the upcoming winter term
  • EU students: 1 June  for the upcoming winter term

If you have not received your bachelor graduation documents by the deadline, please submit all other required documents including a confirmation that you have successfully completed all exams required for your bachelor degree and provide additional information, when you plan to receive the final graduation documents. You can submit the documents at first by e-mail to studienservices(at)boku.ac.at, but please be aware that you will have to submit all original documents or certified copies (considering all legalisation and translation regulations) at latest by August 15 to be admitted at BOKU .

After your submission, your application documents will be evaluated concerning your formal and content-related eligibility - see below.
In case you are still missing documents (BSc Diploma) BOKU´s study services will contact you with specific requests.
Strict deadline for submitting all requested MISSING documents: 15 August
- for Austrian, EU as well as Non-EU applicants; only applicable if the application itself has been submitted by 15 March (Non-EU)/ 1 June (EU)

Please note:
If the requested documents arrive later than 15 August or are not complete by this date, BOKU will discharge your application, but you are able to apply for EUR-Organic in the following year again.

Please be aware that an application and participation to this year´s compulsory EUR-Organic Start-up Module is only possible if you received the letter of acceptance (issued by BOKU´s study services) to EUR-Organic at BOKU BEFORE the 1st of August (which is the application due date to the EUR-Organic Start-up Module). Therefore we highly recommend that you submit all missing documents as soon as possible!

Content-related requirements for admission at BOKU
Pre-test for BOKU Admission

Graduates of Bachelor degrees completed at a recognised domestic or foreign higher education institution who want to apply for the master "AgroEco-Organic" or the double degree master "EUR-Organic" have to demonstrate knowledge in natural and social sciences as well as engineering to be admitted at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU).

For admission to the master programme you have to demonstrate basic knowledge of at least 20 ECTS credits in each of the following areas:

  1. Area I: Natural sciences
  2. Area II: Agricultural production techniques
  3. Area III: Social sciences, economics and law

If you fail to fulfil these requirements, you will be admitted at BOKU with the respective conditions up to 30 ECTS in addition to your regular study programme.
In case the conditions surpass 30 ECTS, you may not be admitted.

In addition, applicants have to prove their English language proficiency at B2 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Do a self-evaluation to find out if you are eligible for admission based on the courses you passed during your bachelor/master studies!

After you recognised that you are eligible, you can officially apply for admission. The programme coordinator will give an official statement on your application, the final decision about your admission will be taken by BOKU's rectorate. 

Please note:In case you will be admitted at BOKU with respective conditions up to 30 ECTS in addition to your regular study programme, you will have to successfully accomplish these additional courses at BOKU BEFORE your exchange to the host university. Students who are admitted from winter semester 2022/23 onwards have to complete these supplementary examinations  by the end of the second semester of the Master's degree programme.
