Exchange Scientist Cecília Delgado

Cecília Delgado -Urban Planner and Architect- is currently visiting the Institute of Landscape Planning. She will stay at the Institute until 4th of September 2015.

The Title of her research project is: Gender planning policies to support community food growing spaces: Generating data to enhance political awareness.

Short Bio:
PhD in Urban Planning (2011); Master in Urban Planning (1998), Architect (1995); Additional training in Peri-Urban Agriculture by FAO – Latin-America.

Currently Post -PhD Fellow on Land Use Planning public policies, conciliating Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture and Social Inclusion. Based in the Urban and Territorial Studies Unit - LNEC.

Assistant Professor at Lusíada University - Porto (1999-2013); Urban Planning Coordinator at Polis Program in Gaia - Oporto (2000-2007). Member of the European COST program "Gender, Science, Technology and Environment”, and member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences at Universidade Nova de Lisboa - research unit.

She works and research on: innovative practices in urban planning; urban agriculture; public participation methods and community involvement; plus gender urbanism. Has been publishing and participating at national and international events.
