About the LATEST Projekt

Within the framework of LATEST, future professionals will be able to deal with the ongoing change towards a more sustainable future of agriculture. The cooperation partnership between BOKU and ULS-UniLaSalle Polytechnic Institute, HAU-Harper Adams University, UHOH-University of Hohenheim, UNIUD-University of Udine is reflected in three focal points:

  • Promoting innovative learning and teaching methods
  • Environment and combating climate change
  • Rewarding excellence in learning, teaching and skills development

Goals and Adavantages

BOKU's expertise on lifelong learning will work together with the LATEST partners to develop multidisciplinary educational programmes with a lifelong learning approach (e.g. flexible learning pathways and modular course design). The close cooperation between the project partners from the university and the associated sector-leading partners in mapping and analysing innovative solutions from a local and global perspective, as well as in developing necessary training programmes, will enable the labour market to find highly skilled workers in AgTech. In addition, one of the main competences offered by BOKU in the project, after researching and implementing the innovative pedagogical approaches, is the validation and recognition of short courses leading to micro-ECTS credits.

BOKU's involvement in the project relates to researching similar projects and finding synergies and best solutions in the field of continuing education, producing a guide to best practice in learner-centred teaching and didactic methods with microcredit-credentials and developing micro-ECTS credentials.
