„Meine kleine Pflanzenwelt“  is a joint project conceived by the association KULTUR FÜR KINDER in cooperation with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna. The aim is to teach Vienna's 2nd and 3rd grade elementary school children a healthy approach to nature and plants and to open up the broad field of science and research to them by introducing them to the university world.

The classroom becomes an experimental laboratory where the children and their teachers sow, raise and harvest different plant species with expert support. The children become young researchers and learn what a plant needs: from good soil, water and light to important nutrients and sufficient space.

In addition, the children experience everyday university life for a short time during an excursion to BOKU, including a "mini-lecture", and get to know people who study or work at the "University of Life".
