The course addresses first stage researchers (before dissertation and with completed master's degree) and scientific staff members who want to simplify their citation and referencing workflows by using the software tool Citavi.

Objectives:

The workshop will provide the participants with skills on using the main features of the citation and reference management software tool Citavi. Software usage will be trained on computers by providing examples and discussing usage cases and workflows.

Content:

Using Citavi in the process of literature searching (collecting sources and references, collecting digital publications, collecting quotations)
Organising and managing publication data (references, metadata, fulltexts) within categories and groups
Creating formatted reference lists and bibliographies by using citation and bibliography templates (ouput styles)
Using the "Publication Assistent" in text processing software (e.g. Word)
Sharing reference data with colleagues via Citavi Cloud and supporting collaborative publication processes
Using Citavi for knowledge- and task-management
How to make literature work simpler and more effective/efficient using Citavi
Useful hints will be provided throughout the course

Methods:

Every participant will be able to work on a computer workstation and to use the software tool throughout the whole course (learning by doing). Examples and use cases will be discussed.

Group size: max. 16 participants

The workshop will take place online via ZOOM.
