This seminar puts the focus on global aspects which play a role in landscape and spatial planning issues. A variety of global aspects such as e.g. demographic change, political changes, urbanization, climate change have a significant impact on the spatial development and socio-economy on different scales. In the course of this seminar some of these aspects will be presented, discussed and reflected upon.
This year we will put a special focus on open public spaces, 24-hour-city and gender differences. Prof Marion Roberts, this year’s guest professor at the Institute of Landscape Planning, will hold parts of the seminar. Prof Roberts is Professor of Urban Design at Westminster University London/UK.

She will share her expertise in the field of gender and cities in the lectures she will give in May.

The lectures will be complemented by excursions to different projects in and around Vienna in May.
