The course addresses first stage researchers (before dissertation and with completed master's degree) and scientific staff members who want to simplify their citation and referencing workflows by using the software tool EndNote / EndNote Web.

Objectives:

The workshop will provide the participants with skills on using the main features of the citation and reference management software tool "EndNote" as well as the cloud based service "EndNote Web". Software usage will be trained on computers by providing examples and discussing usage cases and workflows.

Content:

Using EndNote in the process of literature searching (collecting sources and references, collecting digital publications)
Organising and managing publication data (references, metadata, fulltexts)
Creating formatted reference lists and bibliographies by using citation and bibliography templates (output styles).
Using EndNote in text processing software (Word) via the Addon "Cite While You Write"
Sharing reference data with colleagues and supporting collaborative publication processes.
How to make literature work simpler and more effective/efficient
Useful hints will be provided throughout the course

Methods:

Every participant will be able to work on a computer workstation and to use the software tool  throughout the whole course (learning by doing). Examples and use cases will be discussed.

Group size: max. 16 participants

The workshop will take place online via ZOOM.
