The research groups robot laboratory is located at the BOKU site in Groß-Enzersdorf. The heart of the laboratory is the ABB IRB 7600-325/310 industrial robot which is mounted on a 8.7 m long linear axis. The robot has a maximum reach of 3.1 m and is suited to handling tasks with payloads of up to 325 kg. The system has a modular design enabling additive and subtractive machining strategies with an automatic tool change. The industrial robot is not only used in various research projects but also as part of the new course Digital Design and Automated Construction.
